Choosing the Right Timber

Each Indonesian hardwood has a job it does best. Use this quick guide to match the timber to your collection, then ask us for samples and finish options.

Trembesi (Suar) Live Edge Tables

Trembesi trees grow wide enough to give us single slabs for long tables, often with the natural edge of the trunk left on. No two tops look the same, which is exactly what high-end retailers and hospitality projects are looking for.

  • Solid slab tops with natural live edges
  • Custom lengths for dining, conference and coffee tables
  • Optional insets, such as glass over rattan cane webbing
  • Kiln-dried before machining to limit movement after delivery

  • Tops and seats protectedCarton panels cover tabletops, seats and cane areas, then are strapped tight.
  • Loaded to save spaceChairs are stacked on top of tables so more pieces fit per container.
  • Lashed for the voyageThe full load is secured with straps inside the container before sealing.

Furniture FAQ

Questions About Our Wood Furniture

What furniture importers and project buyers usually ask before their first order.

Can you produce furniture to my own design or under my brand?

Yes. We take OEM and private label orders from drawings, photos or a sample piece. Dimensions, timber, finish colour and details such as cane panels or carving can all be adjusted, and we can make a prototype for approval before bulk production.

Which wood is best for indoor furniture, and which for outdoor?

For indoor pieces such as consoles, wardrobes, beds and dining sets, mahogany is our main choice because it is stable and finishes beautifully. For outdoor and garden furniture, teak is the right timber thanks to its natural oils and weather resistance. Trembesi (suar) is best kept indoors as large statement tables.

What is trembesi or suar wood?

Trembesi, known internationally as suar or monkey pod, is an Indonesian hardwood that grows into very wide trunks. That makes it possible to cut large single slabs with a natural live edge and deep red-brown grain, which is why it is so popular for dining and conference tables.

Can you combine solid wood with rattan cane?

Yes. Mahogany frames with woven rattan cane webbing are one of our most requested styles, used on consoles, wardrobe doors, headboards and chairs. For full rattan collections, see our Indonesia rattan furniture page.

Do you supply furniture for hotels and commercial projects?

Yes. We work with importers, retailers and project developers, and can produce a full furniture schedule in one consistent timber and finish, from guest room wardrobes to dining tables.

How is wooden furniture packed for export?

Legs and frames are wrapped individually in corrugated carton, flat surfaces get carton protection panels, and every piece is strapped. In the container, chairs are stacked on top of tables to use the space well, and the whole load is lashed so nothing moves.

Can I combine furniture and doors in one container?

Yes. Because we make furniture, doors and flooring in the same factory, you can consolidate different product lines into a single container and handle one set of shipping documents.

How dry is the timber used for your furniture?

Furniture timber is kiln-dried to around 10 to 12% moisture content before machining. Dry wood is what prevents tabletops from cupping and joints from loosening once the furniture reaches a different climate.
